Unfortunately we had to postpone our Studio 9 visit, due to child care challenges. As John Lennon said, ‘life is what happens to you while you’re making other plans’. We’re waiting to find out when Ian, the owner, is next available.
On the plus side, we’ve got the piano. (I suspect Emma is well and truly excited!)
Gregg, who is loaning it to Emma, wasn’t lying when he said there were a few steps to get it down. Slippery concrete ones, to be more precise, and about twenty of them.
And the bloody thing weighed a ton, at least!
Anyway, despite Davy nearly tripping over the step on the way into the house, and me slipping on the same step on the way out (having managed to move the piano all of three yards), we eventually reached the bottom of the steep steps without major injury, or damage to the precious instrument. I just hope Emma can play it after all this!
Fortunately there are no steps at Emma and Davy’s to contend with. The piano was reconstructed, cleaned, and even had the keyboard cover repaired, and now sits in their front room.
Let’s see if Emma can have anything ready for our rehearsal on Wednesday (tomorrow). 😉
